A qualified professional with practical experience designing custom-made and automated industrial equipment intended for use in an industrial manufacturing environment

. He/she masters all aspects of mechanical systems such as drive systems, machinery, conveyors, process plumbing, steel structures, pneumatics, hydraulics, and fluids. Responsibilities • Assist in designing tube bending, forming, coining, piercing, broaching, machining, and swaging components for automated work cells and prototype tooling. • Assist in the creation of detailed drawings and BOM's using Solidworks and AutoCAD. 

• Prepare estimate of tool cost for quotations and engineering changes. • Creation of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics for automated work cells. 

• Other duties as assigned. • Provide the project manager with a status update on deliverables. • Ensure effective inter-departmental communication, as required, to develop sound designs and properly functioning equipment. • Incorporate best practices for methods of work (value engineering, Lean design, manufacturing-centred design, practical tolerances, etc.). 

• Work proactively to meet deadlines, component and manufacturing costs, etc., without exceeding them. 

Requirements • College or University degree in engineering or related discipline • Two – Three Years' Work Experience • Knowledge in the strength of materials and machine frames/supports • Proficient with Auto CAD and SolidWorks • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
