To help you get started in the Forex market, we would like to present a chart that shows how the British pound and the Japanese Yen pair performed from the end of 2000 through the end of 2007 when the global economy started to slow.
In July 2007, one British pound could buy 250 yen. Today, after two years of questionable economic conditions, one Sterling buys 150 yen. Chairman of the U.S. Central Bank, Ben S. Bernanke, is one of the most influential finance gurus in world. Recently, Mr. Bernanke said "The recession is very likely over at this point."
If the recession is over, as stated above, we could see significant movements in different currency pairs. Now, could be a great time to take advantage of the market, before currencies make their big moves.
Technique that traders use to maximize profits is called leveraging. Leverage is a trading tool that is offered at iFOREX. It allows you to control a much larger position than your deposit. For example, with a 1:100 leverage, a deposit of £500 becomes a £50,000 position, thus increasing your potential profits.
Should history repeat itself with the British pound strengthening back to 250 yen, your profit with the use of 1:100 leverage would be 10,000%. 500 pounds invested would grow to £5,000.
