Nominations for 42nd ISTD National Convention, 20-21 January 2012 at Kolkata

 

Theme :  "Value Creation Through Human Development – The Emerging Dimensions"

 

Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD) is a premier professional body spearheading the Training and HRD movement in India. ISTD has a nation wide network with 45 branches dispersed in all parts of the country. It also has international affiliations through membership and representation in the International Federation of Training & Development Organizations (IFTDO) Geneva and Asian Regional Training & Development Organization (ARTDO) Manila.

 

In pursuance of its charter the ISTD undertakes regular activities aimed at stimulating development of fresh thinking and strategies in the area of Training & Human Resource Development. It is also engaged in efforts for dissemination and exchange of information and knowledge among relevant professionals. ISTD also devotes itself to build the capacities and capabilities of the key functionaries, as also training and HR professionals in the area of research techniques, skills, attitudes and other matters related to the field of training and development. With these objectives in view, the Society holds a National Convention every year on an important topic / theme of current interest. This year, the ISTD Convention, 42^nd in the series, is being held at Mini Auditorium, Science City, J.B.S. Haldane Avenue, Kolkata – 700 046 from 20-21 January, 2012. His Excellency M.K. Narayanan, Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal has been invited to inaugurate the Convention.

 

Since this is an important national event on a subject of paramount importance to the country, we are keen that members of the training fraternity from all parts of the country should participate in the Convention. We, therefore, request that a strong team under your leadership may kindly attend the Convention. The team will have the opportunity of interaction with invited experts from all over the country and delegates representing various key organizations. There will be an opportunity to learn about various innovative strategies and practices in the field of training and human resource development in order to meet the challenges confronting the organization in a rapidly changing economic scenario. Your delegation, we hope, would also share the perceptions and experiences of your organization, thereby enriching the deliberations of the Convention.
